Urgent action item from Ohio Nuclear Free Network: To have Ohio included in the pending U.S. RECA legislation for 2026, calls and emails are needed by June 10!
Please call US Rep. Dave Taylor next week – Ask him to reach out to Rep. Moylan to promote Ohio being included in the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act! Taylor’s DC office number is (202) 225-3164.

Talking points for call and email:
Dear Josh,
I am writing regarding Ohio communities impacted by U.S. nuclear weapons testing and production. [add personal note if appropriate]. As you know, The community surrounding PORTS in Southern Ohio has suffered devastating health consequences from these activities but remains unjustly excluded from the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA).
I wanted to share a time-sensitive update on this issue. Representative James Moylan’s office is currently drafting a new, comprehensive RECA expansion bill. The next few weeks of the drafting process will be critical to ensuring this legislation covers the frontline communities that have been left behind for far too long. To ensure PORTS is included, please reach out directly to Rep. Moylan's team to formally request that our community be added to the draft bill and express your support for comprehensive RECA expansion.
Your staff can reach Michael Sciacca in Representative Moylan's office at michael.sciacca@mail.house.gov to add your support and help shape this vital legislation.
Thank you for your time and your continued attention to this vital issue.
Sincerely,
